"Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim" In Islam, seeking knowledge is highly emphasized. It is the duty of every Muslim, male or female, to seek knowledge throughout their life. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim." The Holy Prophet of Allah (S.A.W.) has said: " Atta libul ilm faridhatol kuli muslim." means: "Attainment of knowledge is must for every Muslim." The first guidance given to the mankind in the Qur'an was “Iqra” i.e. to read, recite or proclaim in Surah Alaq Chapter 96. Acquiring knowledge in Islam is not limited to religious studies, but encompasses all fields of study, including science, technology, and medicine.
