Pulsars are rotating neutron stars|Miracles of Quran|The "Knocker" (Tarek in Arabic طارق)
First, let us look at the one from Miracles of Quran.
[2]
It takes 86:1-3
[3]
وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ
which it translates to
And the heaven and the "Knocker" (Tarek in Arabic طارق)
How could you know about the "Knocker"?
The piercing star (Thakeb in Arabic).
and says that it denotes a black hole because
The Arabic word "Thukb ثقب" means a hole; "Thakeb ثَّاقِبُ" means the one who makes the hole. The Quran is describing a knocking star that makes a hole.
Pulsars are rotating neutron stars. As more matter falls into a neutron star its mass increases and as its mass increases its gravity increases. But gravity is actually curvature of spacetime. A neutron star distorts spacetime. As more matter falls into a neutron star its distortion increases. A point will be reached where distortion would have grown so much that it makes a hole in spacetime.
A pulsar (from pulsating radio source)[1][2] is a highly magnetized rotating neutron star that emits beams of electromagnetic radiation out of its magnetic poles.[3] This radiation can be observed only when a beam of emission is pointing toward Earth (similar to the way a lighthouse can be seen only when the light is pointed in the direction of an observer), and is responsible for the pulsed appearance of emission. Neutron stars are very dense and have short, regular rotational periods. This produces a very precise interval between pulses that ranges from milliseconds to seconds for an individual pulsar. Pulsars are one of the candidates for the source of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays. (See also centrifugal mechanism of acceleration.)
